In my recent review of the 2022 Trailblazer, I happen to call the Trax a “potato on stilts.” Seems Chevrolet’s realized that their smallest crossover needed a glow-up and so, here it is: the all-new, re-imagined 2024 Trax. Known as the Seeker in China, the 2024 Trax gets the same sort of muscular styling pioneered by Chevrolet’s Blazer. At the front, the use of horizontal lines emphasizes width complete with LED lighting elements. It also sits 101 mm lower than the current model giving it a stronger profile. Wheel sizes range from 16s to 18s. The platform, Chevrolet says is all new and it stretches the Trax’s wheelbase by some 152 mm. This results in a much larger interior room—up 279 mm in length and 51 mm in width—compared to its predecessor. Rear legroom alone has grown some 76 mm, while cargo volume is up nearly 12 percent. The enlarged interior volume is complemented by the new design which is centered around giving a “lightweight feel” for a sense of airiness. The instrument panel cowl has been lowered and together with other Chevrolet “performance” design cues like the rounded air vents make it look sportier. When it comes to safety, coming in as standard are automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and automatic high beams. Other functionalities such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot indicators, and rear parking assist are optional extras. Chevrolet says the all-new Trax is set to go on sale in North America by early 2023. Given that Chevy Philippines has already brought in the China-sourced Tracker for the local market, it makes sense for them to fill in the gap between the Tracker and Trailblazer with the Trax/Seeker. Of course, it’s just a matter of what it will be called when it gets here.

The Suzuki Celerio, is on the list of the most fuel-efficient cars in the Philippines because it is known for its prioritization of comfort by providing more legroom and spacious luggage space, safety features, and an overall outstanding design, is a leading candidate of a fuel-efficient car. Running on 67 horsepower, the Celerio has a five-seat capacity and is affordable. The safety features in the Suzuki Celerio are superb with central locking, engine immobilizer, power door locks, and more. One of the identifying and attractive features of the Suzuki Celerio besides its fuel-efficiency is its well-designed interior. The interior boasts an electronic multi-trip meter, a digital clock and odometer, a tachometer, and fabric upholstery.

What is a Hybrid Car? A hybrid car is a vehicle with at least one electric motor paired with a gasoline engine. Because it has two power sources, a hybrid car can choose which one is more efficient in a given driving condition. When you’re driving slow, most hybrid cars are programmed to use the electric motor to move the car. At higher speeds, the regular engine is arguably the better choice. But how does a vehicle run using electricity? A hybrid car comes with a high-voltage battery separate from the car’s conventional battery. Power is generated by capturing energy from the deceleration usually lost to the heat generated by the brakes—a process known as regenerative braking. A hybrid car also uses its gasoline engine to charge and maintain the power of the battery. You can choose to drive solely using the electric motor, and then just switch to the gasoline engine when the battery is low. This can go the other way around as well. Ran out of fuel? Switch to the electric motor before you reach the next gas station. From there, you can probably deduce the advantages of owning a hybrid car. Types of Hybrid Vehicles Hybrid cars also have subcategories that offer various advantages and disadvantages.[2] It’s best to familiarize yourself with these types, so you can better sift through the long list of hybrid cars in the Philippines. Parallel hybrids are the most common vehicles you’ll find. In a parallel hybrid, the electric motor and the gasoline engine are connected to the transmission, effectively blending the two power sources. Series hybrids are the opposites of parallels, as the electric motor is the one doing the legwork, and there’s no physical connection between the engine and the wheels. The gasoline engine is simply there to recharge the electric motor. A series hybrid operates like an electric vehicle, only with a gasoline engine. Plug-in hybrids have a larger battery pack compared to other hybrids, and they must be fully recharged using an external electricity source. If you run out of battery, this vehicle will revert to a conventional parallel hybrid. Mild hybrids can’t run on electricity alone, but their electric motor still assists the gasoline engine. This results in reduced fuel consumption, although not as efficient as their hybrid counterparts. What is the Difference Between Hybrid Cars vs Electric Vehicles?

The super car vehicle segment has been dominated by Italian brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Pagani Zonda for decades. Other car manufacturing countries like the US (SSC), Germany (Porsche) and Sweden (Koenigsegg) have also produced some memorable super cars, but now it is finally time to introduce our very own Aurelio, the first Filipino made supercar.

Ulol! Weh Di nga?? Cars in the Philippines that are Fuel-Efficient Finding the best fuel-efficient vehicle for you has a lot of considerations. Of course, there are no vehicles yet in the country that are one hundred percent fuel-efficient, at least in common vehicles massively produced and accessible to be acquired by a lot of people. One must also consider that a fuel-efficient vehicle in other countries might differ from those vehicles in the Philippines, as scenarios on streets and highways differ in each territory. With these considerations in mind let’s look at the top candidates for the most fuel-efficient cars in the Philippines that you could avail yourself of and hopefully, drive sooner. 1. Toyota Wigo TAKES THE TOP SPOT! If you sit beside a highway and observe the vehicles passing by, you’d probably notice the abundance of Toyota Wigo units. Over the years, the Wigo is becoming more common and a favorite by a lot of drivers, and rightfully so, as it boasts amazing features and characteristics at an affordable price. The Toyota Wigo is a popular choice as it is described as an easy to drive vehicle and who wouldn’t want to drive a car that is comfortable and easy to maneuver? It has a spacious luggage space, perfect for your equipment and groceries. The Wigo comes in four variants depending on your transmission type preference like if you prefer driving an automatic type or a manual type vehicle. Toyota claims that the Toyota Wigo is of high-performance values that you can enjoy long drives with less worries as the vehicle is equipped with a fuel-efficient engine under a compact hood. Not only that, the Wigo is also comfortable and light and has a five-seat capacity.

A car that looks like it belongs on the streets of Gotham is set to be the fastest in the world. New Zealand automaker Rodin has just unveiled its plans for 'FZERO', a hypercar that is set to be unmatched by any other on the time charts, according to the firm. Its name, FZERO, is a play on the fact that David Dicker, the founder of the company, had set out to build a car faster than Formula One automobiles. The FZERO is said to be unbounded by road regulations or racing regulations. It will be meant solely for use on the track and will not be used as a championship car. The car will be made entirely from carbon fibre and weigh just 1,539 pounds - 220 pounds lighter than F1's current cars for this season. Under the hood rests a four-liter V10 twin-turbo engine weighing just 291 pounds, making it the lightest in the game. The engine is built in-house at Rodin and can go up to 986 brake horsepower and a top speed of upwards of 224 miles per hour. It will have a closed cockpit, and its aerodynamic front claw-like wings and floor will help it achieve an impressive 9,000 pounds of downforce. The motor is currently estimated to cost £1.85 million (US$2.18m). Only 27 will be available for purchase by the summer of 2023.

The Ford F-150 Raptor is a SCORE off-road trophy truck living in an asphalt world. It wears extra-wide fenders, long-travel suspension, big tires, and the high-performance demeanor of a Baja-bashing race truck. Most Raptors are powered by a twin-turbo 450-hp V-6 bolted to a 10-speed automatic transmission and will remain so in 2023. However, an even wilder, more powerful Raptor R is coming for 2023 using a version 700-hp version of the Mustang Shelby GT500’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8, which will finally give the 702-hp Ram TRX something equally intimidating to snort at.

Maiba naman tayo mga ka-getnice! Down the chaotic Manila streets, alongside large buses, private cars, and taxi cabs, an eye-catching, anachronistic vehicle carelessly makes its way through. It’s painted with bright colors and adorned with gaudy accessories. This is the Philippine jeepney, a post-World War II innovation, a cultural symbol, and the undisputed “King of the Road”.

What are the top 5 Philippine car brands in 2022 (so far)??? Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, car sales in the Philippines have slumped a bit in 2020. It is a stark contrast compared to how the industry performed in 2019, but then again, it’s an unavoidable force majeure situation that obviously affected all kinds of businesses from automotive down to the humblest of sari-sari stores. Now that it’s 2022, local car brands are continuing their struggle under the new normal. There’s also the fact that the automotive industry as a whole is currently being affected by the global chip shortage. But regardless, the industry is doing its best and is slowly soldiering on to recovery despite the current difficulties. So, which car brands in the Philippines currently sit on the top of the sales charts as of the first quarter. Well, here’s a list.
